The initial inspiration for this came from an image I reblogged on my main blog, but it was a while ago and I can’t seem to find it. Basically instead of a scabby burnt face it was black glitter. But then I was watching Buffy, as usual, season 4, episode 2, ‘Living Conditions’, and I thought I might try doing something along the lines of Kathy’s true face. So that’s how this ended up happening. I made the outline with wax, then applied collodion to random sections inside the line. I finished up by painting it in. The paint job isn’t very good at all, but I’m happy with how the wax stuck because any time I usually go near my face with it just melts.
I attempted doing a burn using latex, like Tash said she does. I dabbed it on unevenly, pinched it and ripped holes, then proceeded to paint it up. I used the Grimas fake blood in dark, which is annoyingly stringy, so that’s why it looks like I decided to play connect the open sores. (I’m just going to post a full rant about fake blood soon, its never how I like it.)
I got bored and did a quick eye look. I’m still not too fond of the Illamasqua Precision Ink in Scribe, it cracks easily and when it does, you can really tell. I used Illamasquas liquid Metal in Stoic for the eyebrows, it worked quite well. It builds up far better than Resolute. Oh, and please excuse the awful skin, I had no foundation or concealer on.
Some random stuff here. I wanted to try gold tears because I’d seen them in a pixiwoo video a while ago. I didn’t have a syringe, so I used a pipette. It didn’t work that well.
And finally this. Blood everywhere. She demanded it.
Then this.
Bigby made me do this to her the other day.
Lauren wanted me to do her make up like a doll the other day. It was a simple, subtle look. I think it went alright, her skin looks lovely.
I contoured again, only this time I added heavy amounts of my MAC Mineralise Skinfinish in By Candlelight for the highlight. For the liner I used Illamasquas Precision Ink in Scribe, which is great because its opaque, but it tends to crack and peel which is both frustrating and messy. This look is boring and messy, but practice is practice.
I decided to put my contacts in and do some fantasy make up again a couple of days ago. I just went simple and used Illamasquas Liquid Metal in Resolute for a design under the eyes.I think this product is gorgeous, but it can’t be incorporated into daily use because it transfers really easily, even when set with a shadow. Which is really disappointing. I also added Illamasquas false lashes No. 21 so that the lid wouldn’t look too dull in comparison to the under eye area. I still need to practice applying them.
